Dr. Seetha Lakshmi, MD

Dr. Seetha Lakshmi is a physician board-certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and fellowship trained in functional Integrative medicine. She is the founder of My Direct Physician, a personalized primary care and functional medicine practice in Tampa, Florida. She combines her background in academic and clinical medicine with additional training in functional and contemplative medicine to provide comprehensive, individualized care. Dr. Lakshmi earned her medical degree from Government Medical College in Mysore, India. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida and her Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and in Contemplative Medicine through the New York Zen Center. She currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Education at the University of Central Florida and as Medical Director for DCI Donor Services Tissue Banks. Previously, she served as an Associate Professor at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and held several leadership positions at Tampa General Hospital, including Director of the Global Emerging Disease Institute and Medical Director of its Infectious Disease service line. At My Direct Physician, Dr. Lakshmi focuses on longevity medicine , root cause diagnostics, preventive care, chronic disease management, hormone optimization, metabolic health, and optimal performance . Her approach integrates conventional medical care with nutrition, lifestyle, and mind-body medicine. She values lasting physician–patient relationships and works with patients to understand the factors influencing their health and develop practical, sustainable care plans.
